Job Summary
The National Democratic Institute is looking for men and women to serve as nonpartisan master trainers for agents of candidates in the presidential elections. The campaigns will assign candidates in polling stations to monitor the voting and counting processes on election day. NDI will train master trainers on various the election day processes, election rules and regulations, and related information, to qualify them. Master trainers are expected to train in their respective provinces, although some could be asked to travel to neighboring provinces. The engagement if for two months starting in early March up to mid-May. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online (see instructions below) or by email.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in election observation Training of Trainers workshop for four days (exclusive of travel days) in Kabul;
Liaise with provincial representatives of the different political campaigns and government entities like the provincial Independent Electoral Commission, the Provincial Electoral Complaints Commission, security organs, etc., to inform them of the training and related information;
Identify or assist in identifying and inspecting training venues, and secure contracts for use of venues, if necessary;
Train for candidate agents from early March to mid-May 2019, and possibly travel to neighboring provinces to provide such training;
Prepare training reports, including participants’ sign-in sheets and photos of training sessions after every training session, etc.;
Report to and coordinate with NDI Regional Managers (or the NDI Kabul-based Election Team for trainers in the Kabul and Central Highlands region), on a daily basis on the progress of the training, training needs, logistics and administrative issues, travel guidance, and related information;
Complete financial and administration reports related to training;
Perform other tasks related to any of the above duties at the direction of the NDI Regional Manager

Qualifications
Must be nonpartisan or not a member of or associated with any political party or candidate
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in political or social science)
Previous experience as a trainer (must be demonstrable)
Experience in workshop facilitation
Previous experience of election monitoring and/or other relevant experience or specific training, national and/or international are preferred)
Work in domestic civil society organizations or international organizations are preferred
